Hi, I’m Nakia.

I am a Boston-based Learning Experience Designer with a knack for simplifying complex ideas into meaningful, learner-focused experiences.

My Process

Adaptable

Adaptability is one of my strengths, allowing me to tailor my approach to the unique needs of each project. I believe in using the right tool for the job—when all you have is a hammer, everything starts to look like a nail, making flexibility and intentionality key to success.

Start at the End

I’ve had particular success using a backward design approach, which ensures alignment between goals, assessments and learning experiences. For larger-scale projects, I often employ a hybrid method that integrates backward design within the Analyze / Design / Develop / Implement / Evaluate (ADDIE) framework.

Backward design is ideal for creating purpose-driven content during the design phase, while ADDIE provides the overarching structure for managing the entire instructional design process. In this approach, backward design fits naturally within the Design phase of ADDIE, ensuring precision and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
